Soccer Coaches

Head Coach Kris Hazard

Coach HazardKris Hazard begins his second season as the head men's soccer coach at TSU. Hazard comes to TSU from Wittenberg University where he served as the associate head coach in 2005. He had been an assistant coach at Wittenberg since 2003. Hazard holds a National “A” Coaching License.

Coach Hazard graduated from Wittenberg with a Bachelor of Arts in speech/English. While at Wittenberg, Hazard was a four year member of the soccer team and served as team captain. In his senior season, he was selected as a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference Second-Team All-Conference and the Wittenberg Team MVP.

Assistant Coach Larry Clemens

Larry Clemens has played and coached soccer for over thirty years. He played on two high school state championship teams with Argos High School, Indiana. After high school he was a four year starter atHuntington College where he played goalkeeper. While at Huntington he was captain for two years, voted team MVP, and was selected to all-conference, all-district and all-area teams for his skills in the goal. After college he continued to play for the South Bend Soccer Club and began coaching at Argos High School. After marriage and career moves he found himself in Angola, Indiana and started Angola High School's soccer program. He coach at Angola for seven years, winning a sectional and conference championship, while building a winning tradition at the new program. Larry also was one of three founders and organizers of the Indiana Invaders, a member of the USL's Premier Development League. He holds a national "D" coaching license.

Assistant Coach Ian Poole

Ian PooleIan Poole begins his first season as a member of the TSU men's soccer program as an assistant coach. Poole was a four-year starter as an attackman/midfielder in lacrosse for St. Vincent College. In four seasons, Poole rose to the top of the St. Vincent record books with 149 career goals and 223 total career points. In 2005-2006, Poole was recognized as the offensive player of the year and earned the E. Albert Deluca Award as the outstanding student-athlete.

Poole graduated from St. Vincent with a degree in sociology.
