2008 Outdoor Track Outlook

The Tri-State University outdoor track and field team looks to build upon the success developed last year and during the fall cross country season. The Thunder will be tested, as they will be competing against the top athletes in the region to prepare them for the national meet.

Russell Dill (Fort Wayne, Ind./North Side) will be looked upon to lead the TSU sprinters after earning All-MIAA honors last season. Kerry Radosevich (Roanoke, Ind./Huntington North) will be back in the 110 high hurdles and was one tenth of a second off of national qualification in the 55 high hurdles last season in indoor track. Radosevich also runs the 4-by-100 hurdles. Matt Scudder (Kalamazoo, Mich./Hackett Catholic) will lead the field events after gaining valuable experience as a freshman.

The distance team will be led by a strong group that finished second during the MIAA cross country season. Curt Daniels (Huntington, Ind./Huntington North), Josh Hogan (Russell, Pa./Eisenhower), Darin King (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold), Justin Kowalski (Mishawaka, Ind./Mishawaka), and Tim Murray (Sturgis, Mich./Sturgis) will be relied upon for consistent scoring throughout the season

The women’s team looks forward to competing as a team. Chelsi Morey (Grand Blanc, Mich./Lake Fenton) and Courtney Naveken (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) will lead the distance runners.

Stephanie Hobbs (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll), Kara Hershberger (Nappanee, Ind./Northwood), and Taja Cunningham (Redford, Mich./Thurston) will anchor the sprinters.
