Head Coach Kevin Schaefer

The Tri-State University athletic department has recently announced Kevin Schaefer as the new head volleyball coach. Schaefer comes to TSU from Baldwin-Wallace College, where he served as the assistant women’s volleyball coach and men’s club volleyball coach since 2003.

Coach Schaefer was an assistant on the Baldwin-Wallace team that captured the 2003 Ohio Athletic Conference regular season championship with an 8-1 conference record. His responsibilities at Baldwin-Wallace included training middle hitters, outside hitters, and defensive specialists. He was also responsible for floor defense and blocking.

Under Schaefer’s mentoring, the Baldwin-Wallace men’s club volleyball team participated in the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) national collegiate club tournament three times. The team had a top-10 finish in 2006.

Schaefer was a four-year starter and two-year captain on the Baldwin-Wallace men’s volleyball team. As a player he competed in two NIRSA Volleyball National Club Championships.
