2008 Outlook

For the past two seasons the Tri-State University women’s tennis team has had considerable success. In 2006, the women’s tennis team finished the regular season with 11 wins and seven losses. With a tougher schedule and a few matches cancelled because of weather, the team finished the 2007 regular season with a respectable eight win and nine loss record. MORE >>

04.26 / Women’s Tennis Finishes 7th in MIAA Tournament
In match one of the MIAA Tournament, Tri-State was defeated by Albion 6-0. In the singles, #1 Shelley Zamler of Albion defeated Amber Crosby (Holly, Mich./Holly) 6-0, 6-1. #3 singles Stephanie Steiner (Hillsdale, Mich./Hillsdale) was defeated by Albion’s Vic Seiter 6-0 and 6-1. 04.15 / Women’s Tennis Wins First MIAA Match of the Season

The Tri-State University women’s tennis team won their first MIAA match of the season with a 7-2 victory over visiting Olivet College. The Thunder took two of the three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches for the victory. MORE >>

04.12 / Saint Mary’s Defeats TSU Women’s Tennis

The Tri-State University women’s tennis team lost to Saint Mary’s 8-1. The Belles swept the singles competition. The TSU #2 doubles pair of Kara Kauffman (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview) and Amanda Steiner (Hillsdale, Mich./Hillsdale) was an 8-5 winner for TSU’s only victory of the day. MORE >>

The Tri-State University women’s tennis team dropped an MIAA contest at Hope College 8-1. Amanda Steiner (Hillsdale, Mich./Hillsdale) enjoyed the Thunder’s only win with a 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (4) victory at #2 singles. MORE >>

The Tri-State University women’s tennis team was defeated by MIAA foe Calvin College 8-1. Dana Dunham (Angola, Ind./Angola) picked up the lone win for TSU at #5 singles with a 6-2, 6-0 win. MORE >>

The Tri-State University women’s tennis team was defeated by Adrian College 7-2 in MIAA action. Kara Kauffman (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview) had a hand in both TSU victories. At #4 singles, Kauffman was a 7-6, 6-7 (10-8) winner. She teamed with Amanda Steiner (Hillsdale, Mich./Hillsdale) at #2 doubles for an 8-6 win. MORE >>

The Tri-State University women’s tennis team fell to Alma College 6-3 in their MIAA season opener. Alma jumped out to an early lead with a sweep of the doubles play. The Thunder responded with a split of the singles. MORE >>

On Sunday March 16th Tri-State University hosted the 2008 TSU Thunder Tennis Classic at Minges Creek Athletic Club in Battle Creek, Michigan. Four women’s tennis teams, Tri-State University, Aquinas College, Kalamazoo Valley Community College, and Adrian College participated in this four-team round robin doubles event. MORE >>

03.10 / TSU Women’s Tennis Goes 2-2 at Hilton Head

The Tri-State University women’s tennis team went 2-2 over spring break at Hilton Head, S.C. TSU opened the trip with wins over Lynchburg College 9-0 and Juniata College 7-2.
