Head Coach Bill Maddock
Bill
Maddock begins his tenth season as the men’s and women’s
tennis coach at Tri-State University. As a certified U.S.P.T.A. Tennis Professional
since 1978, he has over twenty years of experience as a club professional. His tournament experiences and his success
in coaching at both the high school and college levels have helped
him prepare the Thunder tennis teams for a very competitive schedule. He was voted NAIA Coach of the Year for
the Great Lakes Region in 1999 and his teams have qualified for
both the NAIA regional and national tournament.
Coach Maddock also serves as chair and assistnat professor for the Department of
Health, Physical Education, and Sport Science. He
received his master’s degree from the University of Tennessee
and teaches classes in Sport Psychology, History of Sport, Motor
Learning, and Teaching of Sport Skills.
Assistant Coach Tim Sullivan
Tim Sullivan enters his second season as assistant tennis coach and brings a wealth of tennis experience. Sullivan served as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne from 1981-1984. While at IPFW, his men’s team went 51-33 and captured four individual conference champions. His women’s team accumulated a 43-24 record with one team championship and three individual conference champions.
Coach Sullivan has achieved many individual honors on the tennis court. He holds 32 Fort Wayne city championships in open doubles and senior events. In 1986 he was elected into the Fort Wayne Tennis Hall of Fame. He has been ranked No. 1 in age 45-and-over divisions within northern Indiana several times throughout his career.
In addition to his tennis responsibilities, he is co-owner of Sullivan/Schlienkofer CPA Tax Consulting and Auditing Services.
