In only its third year, the Thunder wrestling team looks to have a break-out season. The team is returning all but three starters from last season, including junior Levi Mundy (16-15 at 125 lbs.), junior Bryan Wight (22-18 at 133 lbs.), sophomore Thomas Pompei (27-14 at 141 lbs.), junior Kyle Pittman (15-14 at 149 lbs), sophomore Nick Kraus (26-15 at 174 lbs.), and junior Louis Posa (26-13 at 184 lbs.).
These returners, along with a very good freshman class to help fill in some holes, provide depth and allow for high expectations for the upcoming season. This will be the Thunder wrestling team’s first season competing in the NCAA regional qualifier. Coach Callahan anticipates a strong enough effort from his team that they will be competing in the NCAA National Championships.
